Busy Day in Second Grade

We are so excited to finally be back in our classroom. It is nice to have our own space again.

Everyone certainly was excited today. It will take some time to establish our routines again, but the kids all did very well.

In math today, the kids learned how to make their own centimeter rulers and we practiced measuring objects (and people)around the classroom.

Also, this morning, we had a fun time with our 5/6th grade buddies. We played a great cooperative group game called Transformations. The kids had to work together in groups of six, to transform their bodies into different objects. Such great teamwork on everyone's part!

We also did a fun newspaper relay race.

Such a fun day!

Friday Activity

Friday afternoon we worked on a project to create decorations for The Harvest Dinner. Each of the kids used crayons and watercolors to make unique scarecrows. What amazing artists we have in the Primary Unit!

Summer Project Sharing

The kids have been working so hard to complete collages about their summer. Today they worked in small groups to share the finished products and to hear all about their friends summer adventures! Not only did we hear about all the fun things that everyone did this summer, but the kids got to work on their speaking and listening skills, too. What a great job they did.

Also, a huge shout out to all the kids for doing such a wonderful job while our classroom is under construction. They have been amazing!

Stay tuned for pictures of our new space on the stage. It looks really great. Bisbee's has kindly donated a rug to help make our temporary classroom more cozy. Feel free to come check it out. Our second grade adventures continue!
