Craters

Today we investigated craters! We were trying to determine what causes some craters on the moon to be larger than others. The kids hypothesized that a larger object hitting the moon would make a bigger crater. They also thought if the object came from further away, it would have more force and therefore make a larger crater. We made the surface of the moon out of flour and cocoa and then tested out our hypotheses.

We discovered all kinds of amazing things about craters!

Balancing Robots

We worked with our buddies to make robots that balance on our fingers, nose and other body parts.

Then we took them outside to run around and do some relay races. Such fun!

Pyramid Project Finished!

The Anciet Egypt reading group finished their project and presented it to the class today. They did a fantastic job teaching everyone about mummies and pyramids!

Buddy Time

Yesterday we worked with our 5th/6th grade buddies to explore a few different math and science activities.  Groups worked with pattern blocks to create  designs.

Other groups worked with Geoboards.

Finally, groups worked to begin creating balancing robots for a science activity we will do next week.

Each group had the opportunity to do each activity.
